Timothy P. Flynn is the Founder, Managing Partner, and CEO of Flynn Financial Partners, Ltd., LLC, an independent investment management, financial planning, and consulting practice. Since 1997, Tim and his team have taken their extensive experience in navigating across numerous market cycles to successfully assist both individuals and institutions plan for, and arrive at, successful outcomes. The strategy from the beginning has been to combine institutional-quality investment advice with an attentive, collegial, and highly personalized level of service while providing tailored solutions to various clients with unique needs.
Prior to founding Flynn Financial Partners, Tim was a Senior Vice President of Investments at UBS, where he was a member of its elite PRIME/Institutional & Retirement Plan Consulting Group. Before that, he was a Senior Vice President in the Public Finance and Investment Group at Advest, Inc., where he consulted with municipalities and institutions on financing strategies as well as managing assets. He began his career at AXA/Equitable. Tim is currently a member of LPL’s Retirement Partners Group and the Retirement Plan Consulting Program.
Tim is a big believer in continuing education. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Political Science, Tim continued his studies at New York University where he earned a dual MPA/MBA degree in Public and Business Finance. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses and maintains his Life & Health licenses. In addition, he currently holds the CPFA (Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor) and PPC (Professional Plan Consultant) Designations. Over the past two decades, Tim has presented regularly at various industry and client-association events.
The entire Flynn Family is committed to various charitable and philanthropic causes. He and his wife, Louise, believe in giving back in time, talent, or donation to the community and are heavily involved with numerous local, regional, and national charities, civic, religious, social service programs, and educational institutions. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Community Housing in Partnership (CHiP), which provides housing and ‘wrap-around’ services for the economically challenged. He is also on the Board of Director’s for the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO)/Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York, where he founded and serves as Volunteer Director of NYC/Upstate Cross Country and Track & Field Programs, providing thousands of children, across all backgrounds, exposure to the benefits of exercise, improved mental and physical health, and goal-setting and friendly-competition. Hundreds have gone on to compete in high-school and in college. Tim is also excited to be working on financial literacy programs for teenagers with the goal of helping the next generation learn how to be better prepared for future opportunities.
Tim lives in New Rochelle, NY with his wife of 30-years, four children (though his three eldest are now away more than home as they are completing their undergraduate and/or graduate degrees) and two dogs. In his free time, he enjoys his children’s numerous athletic competitions, which involves significant travel, whether at the high school or D1-Collegiate Level (ACC & PAC-12), spending time in his garden, or barefooted on the beach in Lavallette or Naples or on his boat (“Flynn’s & Fin’s”.)
